Beware of mailbox theft!Posted on: 2005-03-28One of your neighbors just had the unfortunate experience of having mail stolen from his mailbox that included bills and other sensitive information. It seems bank checks were made using that information and then cashed around town - most particularly at Albertsons. The thieves used the information provided on a mortgage payment left for pickup in the mailbox. Please be careful when using your mailbox for any outgoing mail that may contain private information. Take the mail with you and drop it in the closest mailbox. Better to be safe than sorry!
